Ward Patrol Activity – Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhood Team

On 9th April 2026, officers from the Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhood Team were conducting proactive ward patrols in Ilford when they identified a vehicle being driven with its number plate deliberately obscured.

Officers stopped the vehicle and engaged with the driver. Following checks, it was established that the individual was disqualified from driving and was also not insured to operate the vehicle.

As a result, the vehicle was seized in line with police powers, and the driver was reported for offences, including driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance.

This activity highlights the team’s ongoing commitment to tackling road-related offences and ensuring the safety of all road users. Proactive patrols such as this play a key role in identifying offenders, preventing potential harm, and maintaining safety within the local community.

Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhood Team will continue to carry out high-visibility patrols and take robust action against those committing offences.
